Engine: 155cc

Power: 18.4PS @10,000 rpm

Torque: 14.2Nm @7,500 rpm

This bike doesn’t need an introduction; the Yamaha R15M is one of the most popular sports bikes in India. The R15M is a great entry-level bike for anyone looking to get into sports bikes. It has a sporty look, offers good power, and isn’t too intimidating for beginners. The bike has proper sportbike ergonomics – it gets clip-on handlebars and rear-set footpegs. However, it isn’t as uncomfortable for commuting, which is what mostly this bike will be used for. That said, it is a good learner bike for occasional track days. The bike is equipped with dual-channel ABS, a traction control system, a slip-and-assist clutch, variable valve actuation (VVA), and Bluetooth connectivity. Additionally, it is also fitted with a quickshifter, a digital TFT instrument console offering turn-by-turn navigation, music controls and an LED light for the rear number plate. That’s one loaded list of features for a 150cc bike.

Suzuki V-Strom SX - Rs 2,11,600 (ex-showroom, Delhi)

Engine: 249cc

Power: 26.5PS @9,300 rpm

Torque: 22.2Nm @7,300 rpm

The Suzuki V-Strom SX is a 250cc entry-level adventure tourer bike. It is based on the Gixxer 250. However, this one gets an ADV treatment and looks big. Its engine offers a smooth power delivery while it has a peppy feeling in the lower rev range. Despite its size, it is easy to ride in the city. On the highway, it is a breeze, however, you might need to downshift for quick overtakes. The bike has an upright seating position, coupled with a spacious seat to keep you comfortable during long rides. This is a highway-oriented ADV, and as such has a stiff suspension setup. It has 19-inch wheels which can straighten out some small road undulations.   If you enjoy long, smooth rides at your own pace, the V-Strom's versatility and comfortable ergonomics make it perfect for touring on various roads.

Its lightweight frame and responsive throttle make for an enjoyable riding experience. The Duke 200 is like a learning step for a rider looking for performance without being overwhelmed. It features LED lights all around, and dual-channel ABS with the option to turn the rear ABS off in the Supermoto Mode. It comes with a basic LCD instrument cluster displaying basic information like speed, engine RPM, fuel level, real-time mileage, average mileage and average speed, along with a clock.
