After showcasing its Bonneville range for the media at the 2016 Auto Expo, British automaker Triumph is all set to unveil these machines at the India Bike Week starting tomorrow i.e. 19th February. The two-day event will witness the unveiling of triumph motorcycles of its Bonneville series in particular. Though, the manufacturer will also showcase its other models at the country’s biggest bike fest. Speaking to PTI, Vimal Sumbly, MD, Triumph motorcycles said, “We are having a rider meet during IBW. For the first time, we are showcasing the Bonneville range to our customers. We unveiled it at the Auto Expo in Delhi, but that was only for media.”

The company has already unveiled the bikes at the expo, but the event was only for media and the public unveiling will be done at the IBW 2016. After the public display, the motorcycles will be sent to the dealerships and will be put there for display. As stated by Sumbly, the new Bonneville range is developed on a totally new platform in terms of design, styling, engine and technology. He further added, “This will be the first 900 CC water-cooled engine. We are in India with 100 percent Anti-lock System (ABS) in bikes. In terms of technology, the Bonneville will come equipped with ride-by-wire technology and traction control”.

Triumph entered the Indian market couple of years back and has managed to spread its roots with 12 dealerships across the country. According to Sumbly, “The superbike market in India came to light in 2007-08 with only 400 bikes and the segment has shown immense response as the country has touched the mark of 10,000 units last year.” He further added, "We expect it to go to 20,000 by 2020 and want to be a dominant player. We want to bring technology to people. It's easy to build a big bike, but our strategy is to provide the safest bike in India. We want to do 2,000 units a year by 2020."  The British automaker is focusing on selling 65,000 units in the international market by 2020.
