Here’s how the most feature packed TVS bike performs in the real world
The TVS Apache RTR 310 is one of the most feature-packed bikes in the 300-400cc streetfighter segment. We recently had a chance to ride the motorcycle and here’s what we think about its real world performance
Love it or hate it, you can’t miss it, that’s how eye catching the design on this bike is. The large headlight, which looks inspired from the Ducati Streetfighter lineup makes the bike stand out from the other offerings in the same segment, while also giving it a proper ‘big bike’ look.
The Apache RTR 310 uses the same engine as its supersport sibling, the TVS Apache RR 310. It is a 312.2cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, but has undergone a few changes, making 35.6PS and 27.1PS, which is 1.6PS and 1.4Nm more than the RR 310.
TVS has also changed the bike’s rear sprocket, giving it 4 more teeth. This has made the scooter a lot more peppy in the lower rev range, but this has also made the bike a bit more jerky. Another issue with the engine is that it is quite vibey when sitting at 100kmph, and after a period this gets a bit annoying and leaves the rider’s hands buzzing with vibrations even after short highway runs.
Coming to handling and ride quality, the RTR 310 feels very light and easy to handle. It is quite agile and nimble, which makes changing directions quite easy and effortless. Suspension setup is a bit towards the firmer side, but can absorb most bumps and potholes without an issue. For a bike in this segment, the suspension tuning is quite well set for city riding.
Has good braking performance, with a strong initial bite and steady progressions afterwards.
Features wise, the RTR 310 has a lot to offer and can be considered as the most feature packed bike in the 300-400cc segment. For a detailed breakdown of what it has to offer, check out our explainer here.
The RTR 310 is a good looking bike, offers great handling and a lot of features. But the vibey engine and jerky throttle response could be dealbreakers for some. If you are willing to overlook both then the Apache RTR 310 is a streetfighter worth considering.
