The e-scooters will be inspected and the affected ones will be repaired for free
TVS Motor Company has recalled the iQube electric scooter due to a chassis issue. The manufacturer announced that all TVS iQube scooters manufactured between July 10 and September 09, 2023, are called back for an inspection. The issue was highlighted when a YouTube video from Rajasthan, which showed the e-scooter with a broken chassis, went viral.
The manufacturer will actively carry out the TVS iQube chassis inspection to ensure that the scooters are safe to ride and are functioning properly. The focus of this inspection will be on the bridge tube, which is located at the floorboard of the scooter and connects the front half of the chassis with the rear half.
After the inspection, the affected scooters will be repaired for free. If needed, the defective parts will be replaced by TVS for free. Moreover, TVS dealerships will individually contact customers and inform them about the ongoing recall.
