Here’s our detailed breakdown of what each of the 2 variants have to offer

TVS iQube vs TVS iQube S Which One Should You Choose?

The TVS iQube 2.2kWh and the mid-spec TVS iQube S are affordable electric scooter offerings from the Hosur-based manufacturer. If you're looking to buy an iQube electric scooter, it must be confusing to decide which variant you should go for.

In this article we will be going over the base iQube and iQube S, giving a detailed breakdown of what each has to offer. We will also try to answer the question, which one is for you?

Performance

The base TVS iQube is powered by a 4.4kW motor which offers a claimed top speed of 75kmph. The motor is connected to a 2.2kWh battery pack which offers a claimed range of 75km. The battery takes around 2 hours to charge from 0-80 percent when using a 950W charger.

TVS iQube Motor

The iQube S is also powered by the same 4.4kW motor but offers slightly more performance, with a slightly higher claimed top speed 78kmph. The iQube S also has a larger 3.4kWh battery pack that offers it a claimed range of 100km. The battery pack takes 4 hours and 30 minutes to charge from 0-80 percent, with a 650W charger. Overall, the iQube S is able to offer slightly better performance than the base TVS iQube.

Features

The TVS iQube offers a 5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity and related features. The base iQube gets turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alerts, and ride stats and data displayed on your smartphone. Along with this, the iQube base variant also gets safety features such as geofencing, live location status, and anti-theft alerts.

TVS iQube Console

The iQube S on the other hand offers a slightly larger 7-inch TFT console, it offers the same smartphone connectivity related features as the iQube base and also the safety features. But what makes it stand out is the joystick control which opens up more features such as the ability to accept/reject calls and also music controls. Lastly, the console also displays social media notifications, so you’re always up to date.

When looking at the features, sure the iQube S has more to offer but the additional features are not what some would consider essential. The iQube base variant is able to offer the necessary features which is more than enough for most.

Other differences

Other than this difference in performance and features, there’s very little that is different between both the TVS iQube and iQube S. Both of them feature the same design, but get slightly different colours. Here’s a breakdown:

Variant

TVS iQube

TVS iQube S

Colours Offered

Pearl White and Walnut Brown

Mint Blue, Copper Bronze Glassy and Mercury Grey Glossy

Both the variants get the same suspension setup, with a telescopic fork and twin rear shock absorbers. But there are some differences, rear shock absorbers on the iQube S are adjustable, which makes it quite versatile.

Price And Verdict

The TVS iQube and iQube S have a massive difference in their prices. The TVS iQube costs Rs 1,07,299 and the TVS iQube S costs Rs 1,46,420, which is a massive difference of Rs 39,121. All prices are ex-showroom Bengaluru including electric mobility promotion scheme (EMPS) subsidy.

The iQube S has slightly better performance and more features, but the performance isn’t that massive to justify the price hike and the features are not what we can consider to be essential.

But overall, if you are someone who is looking for these additional features such as social media alerts and the ability to accept and reject calls while on the go, then the iQube S makes sense. Otherwise, you’re just better off going with the base iQube variant which has decent performance and also a good set of features on offer.

Now, if both don’t catch your fancy and you’re just looking for a middle ground between the two, then you should consider the TVS iQube 3.4kWh variant. This one comes at a price of Rs 1,36,628 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru including EMPS). This variant is able to offer the same level of performance and range as the TVS iQube S but misses out on the features.
