TVS Jupiter 125 offers slightly better mileage as compared to its rivals! Here's all you need to know

Looking for a scooter that delivers performance and fuel efficiency and is practical too? TVS has got your back with the Jupiter 125. We put the scooter through its paces, and here’s what we found.

Acceleration

TVS Jupiter 125

0-40kmph

3.79 seconds

0-60kmph

8.21 seconds

0-80kmph

16.72 seconds

Powering the Jupiter 125 is a new 124.8cc single-cylinder two-valve engine that churns out 8.3PS and 10.5Nm. This engine feels peppy in the city and provides enough low- and mid-range grunt for easy overtakes.

Roll-on Acceleration

TVS Jupiter 125

Kick-down 20-50kmph

4.74 seconds

The decent mid range from the engine helps the Jupiter 125 perform well in the city, but when it comes to outright acceleration, its rival, the Access 125, performs better. That said, the TVS is by no means a slouch.

Fuel-efficiency

TVS Jupiter 125

City

57.27kmpl

Highway

52.91kmpl

The Jupiter 125 might not be the best in its segment when it comes to outright performance. But it somewhat makes up for that by returning decent mileage. The scooter is slightly more fuel-efficient in the city than the Access 125 and Activa 125. However, out on the highway, it falls behind its stablemate, the TVS NTorq 125.

Braking

TVS Jupiter 125

0-60kmph

19.26m

0-80kmph

34.88m

The Jupiter 125 is offered in two variants disc and drum. The disc variant employs a 220mm disc/130mm drum setup. Meanwhile, the drum variant mounts 130mm drum brake at both ends. We tested the disc variant and learnt the brake feel and progression could have been better. However, the scooter managed to stop a little quicker than most of its rivals.
