TVS launches a New 110cc Scooter 'Jupiter'

The homegrown automaker, TVS Motors has today launched its new 110cc scooter 'Jupiter' at a price of Rs. 44,200 (Ex-showroom, New Delhi) . The company is claiming the Jupiter to be a male specific scooter, while shall attract both the male as well as female riders. Jupiter is based on companies Wego, however, the scooter has got a more elegant look.

Jupiter shares TVS' 109.7cc, 4-stroke, CVTi, single cylinder, air-cooled engine with its sibling Wego. The engine is capable to churn out a maximum power of 8bhp at 7500rpm, while the peak value of the torque goes to 8Nm at 5500rpm. The scooter comes with TVS patented technology like Econometer (Eco Mode and Power Mode) and it has been claimed to return a whooping 62kmpl of mileage. The TVS Jupiter boasts of 17-litre under seat storage (can fit a full sized helmet) and the fuel tank capacity is 5.3-litre, which can be filled via an external fuel lid placed right above the rear tail light. A V-matic belt drive has been used to deliver the power and torque to the rear wheel.

The company claims the TVS Jupiter has the largest leg space in its segment and there is an under-seat mobile charger provision as well. There are retractable front and under-seat bag hooks. TVS has loaded the Jupiter scooter and it comes with telescopic front forks, gas charged rear suspension, LED tail light and low fuel indicator. One can kick start while sitting. The TVS Jupiter is offered in four colours – white, red, grey and matte black.

TVS Jupiter features a perfect focusing head-lamp with the front visor on its handlebar and an aerodynamic front apron with two sharp edge blinkers on it. The scooter has got a full body covering with durable all metallic body panels. The whole design of the scooter gives it a masculine look. TVS is the fourth largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India and around 36% sales of the company comes through the scooter segment. TVS scooters are highly popular among the female riders, and through this new scooter, company wants to fetch male riders towards the segment. The automaker will launch a new bike every quarter. Currently TVS is selling 35,000 scooters every month but aims to sell 50,000 units a month by the end of the year.
