The BS6 iteration is available in both disc and drum variants apart from the Race Edition
- The standard model equipped with a disc brake costs Rs 9,980 more than its BS4 counterpart.
- The BS6 drum brake-equipped model costs Rs 6,513 more than the corresponding BS4 version.
- The TVS NTorq 125 Race Edition BS6 is Rs 7,530 dearer than the BS4-compliant scooter.
The prices for the TVS NTorq 125 BS6 range has been revealed. The base drum brake equipped version is priced at Rs 65,975 whereas the variant with the disc brake costs Rs 69,975. The Race Edition is priced at Rs 72,455 (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi). Here’s a table comparing the new prices with that of the BS4-compliant variants:
The premium could be due to the inclusion of fuel injection. However, the disc brake-equipped version gets the highest price hike. Apart from an fuel injected engine, TVS might have also equipped the disc brake variant with an LED headlamp. This would justify the premium, at least to a certain extent.
In line with the current trend, expect a small drop in power or torque in the BS6-compliant model. The added emission controlling equipment could also increase the kerb weight by a bit. That said, we expect these changes to have a little to no effect on the scooter’s dynamics, Apache RTR 200 BS6 and Apache RTR 160 4V BS6 turned out to be.
More details regarding the features and exact technical specifications are awaited, so keep an eye on this space for more updates. In terms of rivals, it will go up against sporty 125cc scooters like the Aprilia SR 125 BS6, Hero Maestro Edge 125, Suzuki Burgman Street and Honda Grazia.
