TVS Raider vs Hero Glamour Xtec: Photo Comparison

We take a closer look at the two of the most feature-packed 125cc bikes currently available in India
The 125cc commuter bike market has witnessed substantial changes in the past few months. Manufacturers have been throwing in quite some tech on their bikes lately. The most recent ones to do so are TVS with the all new Raider and Hero MotoCorp with the Glamour Xtec. We’ve compared the two bikes visually and here’s the result.
The TVS Raider looks quite stylish and seems to have a sporty demeanour. However, its LED headlight has split opinions. The Hero Glamour Xtec boasts proper commuter styling. It too gets LED illumination.

You get a split seat and decent underseat storage for the Raider. It even gets a side-stand engine cutoff sensor and an optional USB charging port. Meanwhile, the Glamour Xtec uses a single-piece seat and offers the side-stand engine cutoff sensor and USB charging port as standard.
TVS has plonked a 124.8cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled motor in the Raider. It dishes out 11.38PS and 11.2Nm. The Hero Glamour Xtec uses a 125cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor developing 10.8PS and 10.6Nm. Both the bikes get a 5-speed gearbox.
Apart from the aforementioned features, the Raider gets two riding modes-- Eco and Power-- along with the idle-start-stop system. Currently, TVS offers the Raider with a negative LCD console and has plans to launch a more feature-rich variant later with a TFT dash and connectivity provision. Hero has already equipped the Glamour Xtec with a digital console. You get Bluetooth compatible smartphone connectivity, navigation assist and even a bank sensor to shut off the bike during a crash.
Both bikes get a telescopic front fork. But the TVS Raider gets a gas-charged monoshock while the Glamour Xtec uses twin rear springs at the rear.
Both bikes are available in two variants: drum and disc. With the drum brake setup you get 130mm drums on both ends, while the disc variant gets you a 240mm front disc and 130mm rear drum.
Both bikes tip the weight scale at 123kg.
The asking price for the TVS Raider starts at Rs 77,500 for the drum brake variant and goes up to Rs 85,469 for the disc brake. On the other hand, Hero offers the Glamour Xtec at Rs 80,500 for the drum brake and Rs 85,100 for the disc brake variant (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
