From sporty nakeds to an adventure motorcycle, there are quite a few interesting alternatives to the Ronin
The TVS Ronin has made its debut in the Indian market with an attractive price tag of Rs 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom). This motorcycle doesn’t really belong to any genre as per TVS, and if you are looking for something that’s more focused, here are some options:
TVS Apache RTR 200 4V: Rs 1.44 lakh
If features and performance is what got you thinking about the Ronin, the Apache RTR 200 4V should be right up your alley. It packs connectivity features, riding modes and even flaunts adjustable suspension while almost matching the performance of the Ronin. All that despite being more affordable.
Bajaj Pulsar F250: Rs 1,49,978 (dual-channel)
If you are looking for something more versatile, the Pulsar F250 is the right candidate. The biggest Pulsar doesn’t pack as many features as the Ronin, but has an edge when it comes to performance. This bike’s friendly ergonomics should make it a friendly commuter and a fun tourer too.
Yamaha MT-15: Rs 1.61 lakh
If touring is not your thing, and you want a peppy urban weapon, the MT-15 version 2.0 fits the bill perfectly. The streetfighter sibling of the Yamaha YZF-R15 V4 flaunts attention-grabbing design, and despite having a displacement disadvantage over the Ronin, comes pretty close.
Yamaha Aerox 155: Rs 1,38,800
The Ronin’s unique design will grab some eyeballs, but so does this maxi-scooter. The Aerox 155 uses the R15’s engine, and though the performance isn’t close to the Ronin’s, it is superior as per scooter standards.
Hero XPulse 200: Rs 1,26,824
TVS says it has conceptualised the Ronin as a do-it-all motorcycle, and if that’s what you are after, Hero’s ADV doesn’t disappoint. Its 200cc engine is great at commuting, can handle touring too, and if you are looking to venture beyond the tarmac, is happy to do so as well.
