The reknown Indian tyre manufacturing company- TVS Tyres, conducted their Tyre safety camp in Jheel, Delhi. The trained personnel company personnel carry out tyre assessment, maintenance and safety tips for two wheeler owners and inspected more than 80 two wheelers (100 cc bikes). The Product range showcased the company's brand new 3.00-18 Jumbo GT & Jumbo PT, 2.75-18 Jumbo GT & Jumbo PT, 3.00-17 Jumbo GT & Jumbo PT.
Off late bad road conditions and heavy city usage of two wheelers have affected the life of the tyres, hence it is essential to frequently check the health of the tyre and replace them if they are worn out as bad tyres increases the risk of road accidents. With this in mind, TVS TYRES conducted the tyre assessment & safety camp to reach out to two wheeler owners directly and educate them on the importance of taking good care of their vehicle tyres. The vehicle owners were made aware of their responsibility to not only drive safely but also ensure other people’s safety by taking care of their vehicle and its tyre.
Neglecting your tyres can lead to serious consequences. The easiest way to keep your tyres in good shape and running for long is to have them inflated to the designated pressure. Here are a few simple tips to keep you on the go.
Some of the important tyre safety tips imparted during the camp included:
> Check the pressure of your tyres every time you get a chance. That's probably the easiest thing to do as under inflation can be a tyre's number one risk. Ensure that the tyres are cool when you take the reading. For a better traction in wet conditions, increase pressures by about 10 percent.
> Pay close attention to alignment--shaft drive bikes have no adjustment, but if you have a chain or belt, check the position of your tires. Proper alignment ensures better handling and longer wear.
> The only substance used to keep rubber shiny should be good old soap and water. Make sure you wipe off any lube, brake fluid or gas promptly, too.
Never run two tires of differing construction. The results can be disastrous.
> If the tyre has cracks, dents or bubbles which comes because of aging or if the treads are worn out then it should immediately be replaced.
> Check the air valves and replace if they are faulty because they can interfere with the tyre air pressure which will reduced the tyre life.
> It is always advisable to replace the tube when changing to a new tyre as it increases the life of the tyre.
> Recommended air pressure should be maintained every time you fill air because under inflation will increase the wear and tear and over inflation will make the ride uncomfortable.
> Always go for manufacturer recommended tyre (the original tyre brand that came with the bike) as it will be the most ideal fit designed for your bike
> Vehicle owners were reminded to always wear a helmet when driving as a commitment to their own safety.
As a responsible tyre brand TVS TYRES conducts these awareness camps across the country in different markets and factors the unique driving conditions of the respective cities when giving recommendations and safety tips.
