TVS U69 to make its World Debut at Auto Expo; India Launch Speculated in Jan ‘17

The full-faired BMW G 310 R, which has been codenamed as the TVS U69 will be marking its footprints at the upcoming edition of Indian Auto Expo. Some reports suggest that this bike, which is based on the G 310 R platform, is expected to be launched in India by January 2017, . The U69 has been developed by the Bavarian automaker and will be manufactured by TVS at its Hosur facility. Interestingly, even BMW G 310 R will be making its India debut along with TVS U69 at the biennial event and will be the centre of attraction at the TVS booth.

The TVS U69 will share most of its components with its naked sibling, such as the engine and chassis. The bike will draw its power from a 313cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that comes mated to a six-speed transmission. The motor generates a maximum power of 33.6bhp at 9,000rpm along with a peak torque of 28Nm at 7,500rpm. With this, the company claims a top speed of 145kmph with a fuel economy of 30kmpl.

The machine has been equipped with inverted forks up front and mono shock absorber at the rear. The braking duties are taken care of by dual disc brakes with an ABS expected to be integrated at least as an option. The fully digital instrument cluster is informative comprising of speedometer, tachometer, gear position display, average fuel, average speed, remaining fuel and much more. The bike will be manufactured at the TVS production facility in Hosur and has been engineered at the BMW facility in Munich, Germany.

Though not enough information is available at the moment about TVS U69, a report at Rushlane suggests that it is confirmed for launch in India by January 2017. A rendered image of the bike is doing rounds on the Internet these days and is looking pretty convincing. Once launched, the bike will directly rival against Yamaha R3 and KTM RC 390.
