Everyone knows that the engine of a motorcycle is connected to and moves just one wheel. But there are few crazy folks out there who wanted to take motorcycle riding to an all new level. If cars can have all wheel drive why not motorcycles. Well now a German firm Wunderlich has made this a reality and that too with a liquid-cooled BMW R1200GS.

How did they manage this you ask? Well they added an 'electrical front-wheel gearbox' to the latest version of the R1200GS. A BMW specialist says that the system produces 10 kilowatts (13.6hp) of front-wheel drive which gives the motorcycle more propulsion on the ground and also lets the GS go through curves on the road more quickly. So now the GS is even better as an adventure motorcycle but as far as going through corners quicker goes, it still seems a little scary. The energy produced while braking is used to recharge a battery and the front wheel is able to pull the motorcycle up to 20km/h even with the engine turned off. The Wunderlich company says it's a concept for now but it's hard to see why the firm would go to the lengths of developing it without some aim to sell it. If this concept does go into production as an accessory kit, it would definitely increase the performance and capabilities of the R1200GS. In fact adding this mechanism to any motorcycle would have merit.
