Two Wheeler sales cross 10 million mark

India's domestic two-wheeler market has crossed sales of 10 million units in 2009-10. It has happened first time that auto industry crossed the 10-million mark in the fiscal by selling 10.5 million two-wheelers in 2009-10. As per CMIE date,"2009-10, total 2wheeler sales grow by 24.52 percent as against Domestic market has sold at 8.4 million in the previous fiscal.China's electric two-wheeler sales has crossed 10 million mark. At present, India has not yet started out. Domestic market is dominated nearly 77-78 percent of all sales including 15-16 percent scooters and rest of sales come from mopeds. All concluded about two-wheeler sales in the domestic market with the economy increasing very fast, there is sufficient reason to expected that the momentum in 2wheeler sales would continue",H S Goindi, president (marketing), TVS Motor, said. Two-wheeler foray would double to about 30 percent over next period of ten years, S Sridhar, CEO of Bajaj Auto's two-wheeler division said. Apart from it, Indian bike lover will see more launches in India that include Yamaha SZ, Yamaha YZF R125 and TVS Wego. Besides, Yamaha Motor has recently launched its entry-level bike 'Yamaha YBR' in India.
