Their recent trademark filing suggests so

Ultraviolette Automotive electrified the Indian automotive space with the launch of the F77 last year. And now, it seems like they are moving ahead with their next phase of plans as they have trademarked the name ‘X44’. The status currently says that “Accepted & Advertised” meaning the filing has been accepted by the trademark authority and listed in the trademark journal.

We think the X44 will be an ADV as Ultraviolette had teased three upcoming EVs in the F77’s launch event back in November 2022, with one of them being an ADV. The launch video showed a distinct silhouette of an ADV, and a sketch of it was also seen in the manufacturer’s office on a visit. Even the Ultraviolette F77 has often been seen being tested, thrashing around in the trails.

The upcoming X44 e-ADV is expected to be a completely newly built electric bike from the ground-up. For optimal offroad prowess, it definitely has to be lighter than the 207kg kerb weight of the F77, probably around the 180kg mark. It will have a different motor more suited for an ADV with a higher torque output and less peak output.

The range is expected to be lower than the F77’s claimed 307km IDC range as it will probably be dedicatedly built to tackle off-road terrains and not have much touring capabilities. This is considering the battery in the F77 alone weighs a massive 70kg. Making the battery pack lighter will consequently reduce its capacity, and by extension, the claimed range.

Overall, we expect the X44 to get true-blue ADV characteristics with a high ground clearance, long-travel suspension, spoked wheels with block-pattern tyres, large windscreen and switchable ABS. Summing up, it is likely to be more of an electric alternative to the Hero XPulse 200 4V.

The upcoming Ultraviolette X44 is expected to be launched by mid-2025 as teased by the manufacturer in the F77’s launch event.
