UM Motorcycles Inaugurates First Dealership In Mumbai

UM Motorcycles has opened its first showroom in Mumbai, also its fifth dealership in India.

The newly-launched American brand in India, UM Motorcycles has inaugurated its first dealership in Mumbai, which has been christened ‘Western UM.’ Located at 7/8 Borkar Compound on Western Express highway, near Magathane at Borivali East, it is the fifth dealership of the company in the country. Along with the sale of UM bikes, the 2,900 sq ft dealership offers after-sales service as well. 

Currently, UM has launched 3 Renegade cruiser models -- Sport S, Commando and Classic -- in the country, which are priced at Rs 1.49 lakh, 1.59 lakh and 1.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. The Renegade Commando and Sport S models are already on sale, while the classic model will enter the market during the festive season this year. Currently, the UM bikes available in India are assembled in the country with 70 percent localisation. For production, marketing, selling and after-sales service in the country, UM has a 50:50 joint venture with the Indian firm Lohia Auto, which is a renowned name in the electric vehicle segment.

Commenting on the inauguration of Western UM, Rajeev Mishra, Director, UML, said, "We are proud to inaugurate our fifth Indian dealership. This is our 1st showroom in Mumbai. The new UM Motorcycle dealership will provide the prospective customers of UM Motorcycles a venue to know our products up close and personal."

All three Renegade models launched in the country are 300cc cruiser motorcycles which are based on one platform and powered by a single-cylinder, 4-valve, liquid-cooled engine. However, the bikes differ from each other by their stylings, targeted to cater a wide group of young buyers. Besides that, the Renegade cruisers come loaded with features like fat tyres, front disc brake, beefy 41mm front forks, side LED lights for 360-degree visibility, digital speedometer, USB charging port and under seat storage space.
