Quick News Highlights:
- Gets a completely new boxy design with copper highlights
- Has a dual-tone black and brown colour that is likely to be called ‘Pearl Black’
- Ditches the hexagonal headlight for an inverted triangular LED headlight
- Likely to cost around Rs 5k more than the Destini Xtec, which costs Rs 86,538 (ex-showroom)
A new leaked image of the upcoming Hero Destini 125 has surfaced online. As you can see, the scooter features a new design and looks boxier than before. The scooter features a dual-tone glossy black and dark brown paint scheme with copper highlights that give it a premium look. The image also has ‘Pearl Black’ written on it, which is possibly the name of this colour variant.
The upcoming 2024 Hero Destini 125 features a handlebar cowl-mounted inverted triangle-shaped LED headlight. The apron-mounted indicators have been reworked, and are surrounded by copper accents. The apron looks more sleek and the copper accent on the H-shaped design line along with copper highlights on the rear-view mirrors make it look quite premium. The rear bodywork has also been heavily redesigned and looks sleeker as well. The single-piece seat also sports a dual-tone colour scheme and has a chunky grab rail with a pillion backrest. Even the tail light design seems to have been reworked and is likely to be LED as opposed to bulb tail light in the existing Destini 125.
Moreover, the 125cc scooter gets a telescopic fork and a rear monoshock mounted on the other side (left). It seems to be equipped with 12-inch alloy wheels, and the design is similar to the one in the Hero Xoom 110. More importantly, it has a front disc brake, which is a first for the Destini 125. The rear is likely to use the same 130mm drum as the existing scooter. The exhaust has a newly designed stainless steel heat shield.
It is likely to come with the same semi-digital instrument cluster as the Destini Xtec, which houses an analogue speedometer and a digital screen that shows the fuel level, odometer and tripmeter readings, maintenance indicator, and Bluetooth connectivity with call and SMS alerts.
The Hero Destini 125 is likely to feature the existing 124.6cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 9.12PS at 7000rpm and 10.4Nm at 5500rpm, paired with a CVT (continuously variable transmission).
The 2024 Destini 125 may be launched in the upcoming weeks and we expect it to be around Rs 5,000 more expensive than the Destini Xtec variant, which costs Rs 86,538 (ex-showroom Delhi). It will rival other 125cc scooters like the Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access 125, TVS Jupiter 125, and Fascino 125.
