Here are the upcoming bikes under Rs 1.5 lakh set to launch in 2024!
The year 2023 has proven to be a remarkable period for the Indian two-wheeler industry, it has been a year of affordability, specially for the 300-400cc segment. We have seen big manufacturers like Triumph and Harley-Davidson enter the affordable motorcycle space with smaller, relatively accessible bikes. However, if those options are still beyond your budget or not exactly what you are looking for, here's a list of smaller and more affordable bikes expected to be launched in 2024, all under the Rs 1.5 lakh price range:
Hero HF Deluxe Xtec
The Hero HF Deluxe is a 100cc commuter bike offered by Hero MotoCorp. The bikemaker has updated all of its commuter lineup with more feature-packed Xtec variants (Splendor Xtec, Passion Xtec, Glamour Xtec, Pleasure Plus Xtec and Destini 125 Xtec), except for the HF Deluxe and HF100. While we feel the HF100 will remain intact as it’s the cheapest Hero bike, there’s a good chance Hero might offer the Xtec variant for the HF Deluxe, possibly sometime in 2024.
We expect the top-of-the-line variant to come with features including a fully digital instrument console, Bluetooth connectivity with call and SMS alerts and new colour options that make it stand out among the other variants. It could cost around Rs 3,000 more than the standard version, which is priced at Rs 69,718 (ex-showroom).
Hero Xtreme 125R
Following the success of the Xtreme 160R, Hero MotoCorp is likely to launch a smaller version of the Xtreme based on the Glamour 125, which will likely be called the Hero Xtreme 125R. The sporty 125cc bike will compete with the TVS Raider 125.
The Xtreme 125R has also been spied earlier, and we expect it to be launched in early 2024, possibly at around Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom).
Bajaj CNG Concept Bike Unveil
This one is not a launch, but an anticipated unveiling of Bajaj’s CNG Bike, which has been spotted a few times during its test runs. The bike’s design is based on that of theBajaj CT models, with a few tweaks here and there, but it seems to have shared a perimeter frame from the Bajaj Pulsar NS 125 to fit the large cylinder CNG tank between the perimeter ‘arms’. The CNG bike concept also gets a telescopic fork and a rear monoshock like the NS 125.
It will not only be Bajaj’s but also India’s first CNG bike. We expect the Pune-based manufacturer to unveil the motorcycle concept and reveal its details in 2024.
Apart from these, we could also see several mild updates and/or new colour schemes for existing commuter models from Bajaj, Hero, TVS and Honda. All in all, 2024 sure looks like it’ll be a good year for budget bike enthusiasts!
