This affordable yet exciting segment of motorcycles promises quite a lot next year!
The Rs 1.50 lakh - Rs 3 lakh segment of motorcycles is quite a nice one, especially in a price sensitive country like India. These bikes pack enough performance to keep you on your toes but are also reasonably affordable. So if you’ve been eyeing this segment too, here’s a quick rundown of the upcoming bikes in this price bracket:
Hero Bikes
Hero could launch a couple of interesting bikes next year. The XPulse 210, for starters, was spied testing earlier this year, and we think the Karizma XMR’s 210cc liquid-cooled engine could make this new XPulse a good tourer.
Talking about the XPulse, we think it could also make sense for Hero to plonk in the Harley-Davidson X440’s 440cc engine in an XPulse too, making it the XPulse 440. The engine is torquey, sweet and can maintain triple digit speeds all day long. And that makes it quite an ideal format to put in an ADV. And its simple architecture (2-valve, SOHC setup) also means Hero could price it competitively.
Alongside the XPulse 210, the Xtreme 210R was also spied testing and it does make sense to put the rev-happy, smooth 210cc engine in a naked bike as well.
Royal Enfield Hunter 450
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 finally came to India this year at a fantastic price. So now we think it’d be a good time for Royal Enfield to bring the Hunter 450 as well. The bike was spotted testing earlier this year and Royal Enfield could finally have something to go up against the rather impressive 2024 KTM 390 Duke.
Bajaj Pulsar NS400
Bajaj could be gearing up the launch of the NS400 in 2024. It could essentially be the NS’ platform but with changes made to accommodate the 373cc engine from the Dominar 400. The Dominar 400’s biggest problem was undoubtedly its weight so we hope this streetfighter (and not a ‘power cruiser’) solves that.
Updated Husqvarna 250s
Now that KTM launched the updated 250 Duke in India, it only makes sense for it to put that lovely engine in the Husqvarna 250s as well. The 2024 Vitpilen 250 was spied testing in India and here’s all you need to know about it.
TVS Ronin-based Cruiser
TVS filed a new design patent for a cruiser earlier this year and we think it could be one based on the Ronin. The Ronin’s engine is an extremely torquey one so putting it in a cruiser format would make it a good commuter.
