After a successful 2012,Indian two-wheeler industry is now preparing for a even better 2013. The year 2012 has witnessed some new trends in the industry, like the craze of premium sports bikes and cruisers developed in the country, executive commuters segment has started doing well and scooters are in full action now, even the premium ones. So, the whole 2013 will witness the effects of these changes and therefore new bikes in these so much popular segments will be launched. The executive commuter segment has already witnessed three-four wonderful bikes in 2012, so, there will be no big launches to happen. Let's have a look at big launches to happen in 2013...
Upcoming 100cc Bikes in India:
Bajaj's Upcoming 100cc Bike:
Expected Launch- 7th January
Expected Price- N/A
Bajaj Auto is known as a trend setter in the country and they have been praised for introducing new bike trends. They brought some wonderful bikes including Bajaj Discover and Pulsar series of bikes. The bikemaker has announced to launch world's most advanced 100cc bike, which they are launching in January, 2013 and most probably on 7th January. However, nothing has been disclosed on the bike till date and it is still a mystery that it will be part of any existing series of bikes or will be a completely new brand.

Piaggio Fly 125:
Expected Launch: Early-2013
Expected Price: Rs. 55,000
After having a successful entry with the premium scooter Piaggio Vespa LX125, Piaggio now looking a successful start in the mass segment as well. For this they are planning to launch the Fly 125, which will be their first mass-appeal product in the country. The scooter was expected in November 2012, but it was delayed and now we are expecting it to launch by first quarter of 2013. The new scooter will be powered by the same 125-cc engine like the Vespa, which offers 10.06 PS and 10.06 Nm, though tuned to offer better fuel efficiency.
Honda PCX150:

Piaggio Vespa LX125's success has proved that there is acceptance for premium scooter in India and too cash it Honda is also planning to launch a premium scooter in India by 2013 end. The Honda PCX150 comes equipped with a 150cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine mated to a V-Matic CVT automatic transmission. The scooter returns an impressive fuel economy of 43 km/l. The PCX150 weighs around 128kgs, making it a heavy bike to handle. This scooter has a fuel tank capacity of 6-litre, that is the biggest reason behind its massive 25-litre underseat storage capacity. The scooter boasts of 14-inch wheels with tubeless IRC 90/90 front and 100/90 rear tires and a single disc with three-piston caliper in front and drum rear brake linked with Honda’s Combined Braking System.
Upcoming 200cc-400cc Bikes in India:
KTM Duke 390:
Expected Launch: Early 2013
Expected Price: Rs. 1.5 lakh- Rs. 1.8 lakh
Unveiled at 2012 EICMA, the KTM Duke 390 has already been destined for India, the bike is being manufactured at Bajaj's Chakhan Plant along with KTM Duke 200 and 125 and is being sold in UK and some other European countries. The bike features designing cues taken from KTM Duke 200 and 125 and shares most of its parts with the Duke 200. The bike features a single cylinder 373cc engine that comes with a 4 valve/cylinder architecture with a DOHC layout. The motor is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, which churns out the maximum power output of 44bhp, with the peak torque of 35 Nm. The Duke 390 weighs just 150 kilograms, helping it return a healthy power -to-weight ratio, which allows Duke 390 to touch the top speed of about 160 Kph. KTM is also planning to launch new variants of the Duke 390 in the form of a fully faired model and a touring version.

Ever since the news came that KTM is developing an affordable performance bike, there were reports that Bajaj is also working on the similar bike and lately they announced that they are working on a high volume Pulsar series bike. The bike is going to be based on the Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS and will feature a 375cc, single cylinder, 4 valve engine, the bike will also feature Bajaj's triple spark technology and fuel injection for the very first time in any Bajaj bike.

Yamaha has announced to develop a 250cc made for India bike, we are expecting it to be a elder sibling of the R15 V2.0. The bike might boast the designing style of the R15, which has been heavily based on the R1 and R6. The GV250 known as the Aquila internationally, will feature a 250cc V-Twin, oil cooled engine, capable to produces the peak power output of 25bhp with the peak torque of 24Nm. The engine comes with a conventional chain drive, powering the rear wheel of the motorcycle through a five speed manual gearbox.

Honda CBR500R:
Expected Launch: mid-2013
Expected Price: Rs. 3.5 lakh
The Japanese bike maker Honda has showcased its all new middleweight bikes at 2012 EICMA, namely CBR500R, CB500X and CB500F. We are expecting the bike to hit Indian markets in the summers, The 2013 Honda CBR500 R is powered by an all-new, liquid-cooled, 500cc parallel-twin DOHC engine that features Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) and a counter-balancer. The engine, which is hooked to a six-speed transmission, will also power two other new 2013 models - the standard CB500F and the adventure CB500X. The bike features a steel-tube frame, with a 41mm front fork and a Pro-Link single shock with nine-position spring preload adjustability out back. Stopping the 2013 CBR 500 R, which rolls on 17-inch rims, is a single 320mm disc squeezed by a twin-piston caliper up front, and a single 240mm disc out back squeezed by a single-piston calliper. The bike will compete with the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 650R and others.

2013 Kawasaki Z800:

Kawasaki is planning to expand its Indian portfolio and for this they are planning to launch their middleweight bike Kawasaki Z800 in India. The Z800 will be available in two different variants– Z800 and Z800e, which are same on styling and looks but different in power outputs. The Z800 belts out a maximum power output of 111 bhp with an 83 Nm of peak torque, on the other hand the Z800e comes as a slightly toned down variant with 94 bhp and 76 Nm. Kawasaki Z800 has been designed to replace Kawasaki European best-seller Z750 and has a bigger engine and improved styling than its predecessor. The Z800 is claimed to offer better performance across the rev range, with sharper focus on lower to mid revs. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission; Smooth-shifting 6-speed transmission has a gear for every situation, from low-speed city traffic to high-speed highway use. We are expecting the bike to come by mid-2013.

The South Korean bike major is going to expand their Indian portfolio by adding a premium cruiser GV650, which will rival Harley Davidson's cruisers in the country. The Hyosung GV650 features a 650cc liquid cooled V-Twin engine running a DOHC/4 Valve layout. This engine delivers the peak power of about 70bhp with the peak torque of 60Nm. The engine is mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox, which transfer the power to the rear wheel through a belt drive. We are expecting a price tag somewhere around Rs. 5 lakhs, making it the one of the most affordable premium cruisers to be sold in India.

The 2013 Triumph Tiger 800XC features a 799cc three cylinder engine, the machine weighs about 215kg and offers one of the best ride quality in its class. The bike will use the import route and will be sold as CBU units.
Triumph Daytona 675: Expected Launch: Mid-2013 Price: Rs. 7.0 lakh
In India companies cannot import bikes under 800cc, that is why Triumph has to assemble the Daytona in India locally. The bike will follow the CKD route, therefore it will be affordable as well.
Triumph Bonneville: Expected: Mid-2013 Price: Rs. 5.5 lakh
Legendary bike Bonneville is coming to India and just as Daytona the bike will also follow the CKD route.

Kawasaki ZX10R Ninja:

Price: Rs. 12-14 lakh
Kwasaki is planning to launch 2013 Kawasaki ZX10R in India via CBU channel. The green 2013 Kawasaki XX10R engine is a liquid cooled, four stroke, transverse four cylinder, DOHC, and 4 valves per cylinder mill. The engine is tuned to deliver a maximum of 175bhp of power at 11,700rpm and a peak torque amount of 115Nm at 9500rpm.
Kawasaki ZX14R:

The ZX14R is the biggest rival of the legendary Suzuki Hayabusa, which is already on sales in the country, to rival this Kawasaki is also bringing the ZX14R in India. The bike comes equipped with a liquid 1352 cc Inline-four cylinder engine, which is wrapped inside an unique aluminum monocoque frame which makes the bike look more narrower than its previous version.
