The 125cc sporty scooter aims to fill the gap left by the discontinued Hero Maestro Edge 125

Upcoming Hero Xoom 125R Spied Testing

Quick News Highlights:

- Xoom 125R will likely get the same 124.6cc engine as Hero Destini 125 but with a different engine tune.
- The scooter is expected to launch this festive season, around October 2024.
- Rivals other 125cc sporty scooters like the TVS Ntorq 125, Suzuki Avenis 125 and the Aprilia SR 125.

The upcoming Hero Xoom 125R was spied testing in India, ahead of its launch. First showcased at the EICMA 2023 in Italy, the 125cc scooter comes with sporty looks, large 14-inch wheels, and it aims to fill the gap left by the discontinued Hero Maestro Edge 125.

The latest spy shots of the Hero Xoom 125R reveal the scooter's rear design, and it looks very similar to the scooter which was showcased last year. The scooter has a sporty front-end design and sports an aggressive headlight with segment-first sequential indicators. The tail section of the upcoming Xoom 125R looks slim and features dual-LED tail lights, along with motorcycle-like rear indicators. It has a short and stubby exhaust that looks chunky.

Upcoming Hero Xoom 125R

The upcoming Hero Xoom 125R is expected to get the same 124.6cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine as the recently launched Hero Destini 125 that produces 9.12PS and 10.4Nm. But we expect the engine to be tuned to suit the sporty characteristics of the Xoom 125R. Hero will likely focus more on performance rather than mileage.

The Xoom 125R is expected to feature the same LCD instrument console as its smaller sibling, the Hero Xoom 110. It may also get smartphone connectivity for call/SMS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation. The 125cc scooter is suspended on a telescopic fork and a rear monoshock. Braking is handled by front disc and rear drum brakes. The scooter has 14-inch alloy wheels on both ends, which is a first by an Indian manufacturer in a 125cc scooter. The scooter is fitted with MRF Zapper tubeless tyres.

The Hero Xoom 125R is expected to launch this festive season, around October 2024. It is likely to be priced between around Rs 80,000 and Rs 90,000 (ex-showroom). However, Hero may also launch a variant with drum brakes on both ends or without navigation to keep the base variant of the scooter more affordable. The Xoom 125R will directly compete against the TVS Ntorq 125, Suzuki Avenis 125 and the Aprilia SR 125.
