The Pune-based two-wheeler manufacturer, TVS Motor, is finally bringing the most awaited Apache 200 in the market in 2016. The motorcycle is already spotted testing many times, however, the pictures were not clear enough. Now, an Indonesian website has captured some very clear pictures of the Apache 200 which are revealing many important details about the bike.
Most surprising fact emerged from the new spy shots is that the new 200cc engine of TVS Apache will be air-cooled and receive an oil cooler which was expected to get liquid-cooling. The close-up of the engine crankcase reveals that it is an all new engine and might get 4-valves for a better performance.
It was already clear that the upcoming motorcycle shares the design lines with the concept Draken X-21 which was unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo. The fuel tank of the motorcycle has almost identical plastic cladding with extended flaps while the other body panels have been tweaked a bit.
The new Apache 200 gets a smaller low-set headlamp which might provide a bold look to the bike. It gets a tiny LED tail lamp and it also has a fully digital console like some other premium motorcycles in the market.
Some reports suggest that the bike might offer both single piece and clip-on type handlebar option with the Apache 200. The seat of the bike is split type and it also gets a split-pattern rear grab rail. The engine bottom cowl of the bike is also looking new and you can easily notice a very distinct dual-port exhaust muffler on the bike.
The bike has golden telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear that has been rumored to be a link type one. The new alloy wheels of the bike are the split-spoke type and gets wider tyres, 130/70 section at the rear and 100/80 section up front.
The braking system of the new Apache 200 will feature dual petal-disc brakes with 2-piston caliper at the front and 1-piston caliper at the rear. The rear brake caliper also gets a protective cover and the system is expected to receive an optional dual-channel ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) like the existing Apache RTR 180.
The upcoming Apache 200 is expected to be launched in January 2015 and it could be priced around Rs. 1 lac in India.
