Six-time MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi shared an image, posing with his Yamaha YZF-M1 race bike for the 2016 racing season on social media. He posted the image of a covered bike, after finishing a photo shoot with it. In the post shared on Facebook and Twitter, Rossi was all praised about his new race bike. It seems the veteran has brushed the mishaps of the last season under the carpet and begun this year with focus on the upcoming MotoGP season.
The Italian rider was having a great season in 2015 and was in the running for the Championship, with just 2 races left. However, following a controversial ruling over a maneuvre involving him overtaking Honda rider Marc Marquez at the Sepang GP, Rossi not only lost points, but was also relegated to start from the back of the grid at the season’s final race. Despite the issues, he finished the season at second spot with 352 points, just seven points lower than Spanish teammate Jorge Lorenzo, who took home the Championship.
Rossi posted the picture on social media on Tuesday night with his new M1 and wrote ‘First shooting of 2016, it starts! The new m1 is very beautiful, you'll see next Monday in Barcelona!’. Valentino Rossi updated the picture of him shooting with this new machine which will be unvelied by the Yamaha team next Monday at Barcelona, Spain.
Presently, no further details on this 2016 M1 MotoGP race bike have been revealed but we expect to see the champ hitting the tracks hard with this ultimate Yamaha technological marvel. We hope to see a clean race track this time with fewer controversies than the previous season. While we are not against the controversies that lead to more excitement in competitive racing, we hope the 2016 season is more about the racing than other issues.
Stay tuned to catch more updates on the upcoming MotoGP action.
