The year 2015 celebrates the 40th anniversary of the foundation of Giorgio Armani and the 130th birthday of the Piaggio Group. Both these icons of style and creativity joined hands this birthday and created the Vespa 946 Emporio Armani. Since the whole design has been the responsibility of Giorgio Armani, this edition stays in tune with Armani’s signature subdued colour palette, with a special combination of greys with subtle hints of green visible only under particular light conditions for the project.
The name ‘Vespa 946’ signifies the year 1946 when this particular model was created by Piaggio. Design of this new Emporio Armani has its roots down to the original Vespa styling language. All metal components have been created using galvanic treatments. These have an attractive satin finish and create an opaque effect in line with the finishing touches of the body. The bold name ‘Emporio Armani’ has been placed on the side, with the eagle logo taking centre stage above the headlamp.
The Vespa 946 Emporio Armani is not all about looks. It does pack a lot of new technology under that pretty skin. The aluminium cylinder blocks, brown-leather finishes, luxury accessories, electronic riding controls all form part of the package, completed by an innovative four-stroke electronic injection engine, whose enhanced fuel economy and minimal emissions make this scooter ideal for running around on city roads. Safety duties are done by the 220 mm double disc brake, two-channel ABS braking system and large 12 inch wheels.
