Victory Motorcycles has recently launched its most powerful model christened Octane in the US market. The company calls this new model an ‘American muscle bike’, since it packs a punch of power in a lightweight chassis. The price of the Octane is still unknown but Victory has revealed an introductory price through a special offer for the first 100 customers.

Powering the bike is an 1179.3cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine that generates a maximum power of 103bhp at 8,000rpm along with peak torque of 98.97Nm at 6,000rpm. The mill is the production version of the engine used in Project 156 Pikes Peak Concept. The 1179cc engine receives 60mm electronic throttle body and shorter strokes for quick acceleration. With this, the company claims it to be the highest power output engine in their product lineup till now.

Victory Octane has been equipped with 41mm forks up front while the rear gets twin preload adjustable shock absorbers to carry out suspension duties. The braking system comprises 298mm disc brake with twin-piston callipers at the front with a 298mm rear disc linked to a single-piston calliper. Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) has been integrated as a standard fitment.

Talking about styling, the bike looks to be drawing some cues from the race-inspired Project 156. The front gets a rounded headlamp along with a black-coloured visor. The fuel tank and side panels get aggressive body lines and the dual exhaust setup further enhances the appearance. The company is yet to reveal the pricing. However, it has announced an introductory price of € 12,950 (Rs. 9.86 lac) and the first 100 buyers would be getting a special engine cover with a Project 156 logo. Since Victory has not made its appearance to India yet, the launch news of Octane might not give those goosebumps to the Indian biking nuts. Let's hope for the best and expect to see the Victory machines cruising on Indian roads soon. Stay tuned for more updates!
