All the Barry Sheene fans have a good news as a film based on the renowned British world champion Grand Prix motorcycle world racer, will be soon be releasing on movie screens. The movie is named ‘Sheene’ and it will focus on Barry’s life, his struggles and his unique style. ‘Sheene’ is based on a book “Barry: The story of motorcycle legend Barry Sheene”, which is based on the life of Barry Sheene and is written by MotoGP journalists Steve Parrish and Nick Harris.

Barry won the motorcycle world championship in 1976 and 1977. As Barry had a habit of smoking, he had a hole drilled in the front of his helmet so that he could smoke just before the race starts. Soon this thing got recognised across the world as his off-beat style that made his fan following even bigger. Sheene retired from his motorcycling racing career in 1984 and died from cancer in the year 2003 at the age of 52.

The legend returned to the racing after surviving two major crashes at 170mph speeds. Out of these, the first happened at Daytona in 1975 and the other took place in Silverstone in 1982. Though the release date has not been announced yet, the movie is expected to release in the year 2017. The movie is made by IO Films Australia and Deep Spring Pictures UK.
