Has a close shave with a tiger at Pilibhit Tiger Reserve in UP: Watch Video
On today’s episode of close calls on two-wheelers, we see a biker and his pillion rider narrowly miss coming face to face with a tiger in a video that’s gone viral on the internet. The very thought of such a situation runs chills down your spine, right?
The video, shared by an IFS officer, has amassed over 1.25 lakh views on Twitter, and shows a tiger crossing a road at Pilibhit Tiger Reserve in Uttar Pradesh, just as a biker with a pillion on a Hero HF Deluxe approaches it, and manages to grind to a halt in close proximity to the wild animal.
As long as one doesn’t have a back gear in the bike, use common sense in the back of your mind & drive slow in wild habitats.

This clip seems to have been taken by a driver of a car that was giving way to the tiger as it crossed the road slowly, as should be done while navigating through a wildlife sanctuary. What’s more commendable is the way this driver moves his car forward to shield the biker as he reversed away from the tiger.

There are numerous highways that cut through national parks and tiger reserves in India, and while most of these roads have timing restrictions, there are chances of encountering wildlife even in broad daylight. Animals have the right of way on such roads, so we recommended that all motorists make their way on such roads at reduced speeds.
