With BS6 emissions norms on the horizon, manufacturers are scrambling to get their updated bikes out in the market. Some though, are using the deadline to introduce special-edition BS4-compliant models. Harley, on the other hand, has set in motion its plans to tap into the sub-350cc segment. There’s a lot that transpired over the course of this week, but we’ve got you the top five news stories that made headlines in our opinion. 

 

BS6 Yamaha R15 V3.0 Launched In India

Yamaha has launched the BS6 version of its flagship R15 V3.0 in India days after it introduced the BS6 FZ-FI and FZS-FI. The BS6 R15 V3 holds premium of Rs 6,000 over the previous BS4 iteration. Apart from an updated motor, the R15 V3.0 also gets cosmetic and feature updates as well. The new motorcycles will be available across Yamaha dealerships from the third week of December. 2020 Suzuki Hayabusa launched in India:

Suzuki has launched the last iteration of the BS4 Hayabusa in India. The hypersport features cosmetic as well as mechanical changes. Thanks to its ‘Limited Edition’ label, the bike will be manufactured in a limited number. Head here for more details.

 

Husqvarna Svartpilen 200 unveiled:

After unveiling the 250cc Svartpilen and Vitpilin, Husqvarna has now taken the wraps off the Svartpilen 200. It borrows its design cues from its elder sibling, the Svartpilen, but features mechanicals from the 250cc model. The bike will be manufactured in India and exported overseas. BS6 KTM 390 Duke, 125 Duke, 250 Duke & others to get a heavy price hike:

KTM is likely to launch its BS6-compliant models by the end of this month or early next month. The new models are expected to carry a hefty price bump. The most affordable bike under KTM’s lineup, the 125 Duke, currently costs Rs 1.32 lakh (ex-Delhi). Expect the BS6-compliant 125cc KTMs to be more expensive than the BS6-compliant Yamaha R15 V3. Most Affordable Harley-Davidson 350 all set to enter production!

Harley-Davidson and its Chinese partner Qianjiang Motorcycle Co. has frozen on the design of its “HD350” project in China. It plans to launch the entry-level cruiser towards the end of 2020 in the Chinese market. Here's when we could expect the American brand to launch the bike in India.
