Launches, Announcements and other exciting updates.

This week has been a very interesting one for the 2-wheeler sector, with launches and announcements of both new motorcycles as well as variant updates. Let’s take a look at what has happened so far.

Royal Enfield

This has been a busy week for Royal Enfield and the brand has been able to capture the limelight like no other. The brand started this week with the revealing of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 on monday and confirming its launch date – November 7, 2023. This was followed by other details regarding the motorcycle’s kerb weight and colour options being revealed.

Other than the Himalayan 452, Royal Enfield has brought a new variant for the Meteor 350 known as Aurora which offers three new colour choices: Aurora Blue, Aurora Green, and Aurora Black.

Neev Nakshatra 650 Bobber: A New Take On The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650

Other than these official announcements and reveals, Royal Enfield still managed to make the news. The first instance came when Neev Motorcycles, a custom modding company based out of New Delhi, came out with their latest creation – the Neev Nakshatra 650 Bobber.

The bobber is based on the Super Meteor 650 and has undergone quite a few changes that sets it apart from the stock motorcycle like a larger fuel tank with beautiful designs inspired from the constellations, rerouted exhausts and bigger tyres at both ends.

The week ended for Royal Enfield with a bang, with the entire cast of the movie “Dhak Dhak” storming a special screening on their Royal Enfield Motorcycles.

Triumph

Triumph made a big announcement this week, launching the much-anticipated Triumph Scrambler 400 X. The motorcycle comes with a suspension setup that has longer travel, upright handlebars, larger 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels and switchable ABS making the motorcycle a potent weapon for light trails. The bike uses the same 398cc liquid-cooled engine that puts out 40PS at 8000rpm and 30.7Nm at 6500rpm. The bike sells at a price of Rs. 2,62,996 (ex-showroom Delhi).

Hero

Coming to Hero, this week it was revealed that Hero MotoCorp trademarked the Hurikan and Hurikan 440 names in India, the second trademark filed after Nightster 440. Not much is known about the bike but we expect it to be a sportier motorcycle created using the same 440cc air-/oil-cooled 2-valve SOHC single-cylinder engine from the Harley-Davidson X440 that outputs 27.8PS and 38Nm.

Honda

Honda this week announced that they have launched new variants for their 350cc motorcycles, the CB350 H’ness and CB350RS.

Overall there are 2 variants introduced, the first being the Legacy edition of the CB350 H’ness that features a legacy edition badge on the fuel tank with fresh body graphics and a pearl siren blue colour scheme. The CB350RS gets the New Hue Edition which brings two funky colour schemes to the table: Sports red and Athletic Blue.

These updates don’t bring any changes to the performance of the motorcycles and both are still powered by the same 348cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that produced 20.78PS and 30Nm.

Overall this weekend has been quite exciting but if you are someone who has been following the news closely and don’t need a reminder of what we saw, make sure you check out this article explaining the differences between the Pulsar N150 and Pulsar P150.
