2016 Auto Expo is just around the corner and most of the automakers are geared up for the event with their latest offerings. While most companies will showcase their best models, some brands like Harley-Davidson, Royal Enfield and Bajaj will sit out of the Expo this time. To compensate for the same, Harley-Davidson has launched Sportster 1200 Custom in India, while Bajaj teased its ‘V’ series before its launch on February 1 and RE Himalayan exhaust note was revealed just before its global unveil on February 2. Harley-Davidson India has launched the Sportster 1200 Custom in the country at a price of Rs. 8.90 onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi). The launch took place in Jaisalmer during the Harley NH Zero Ride that kick started yesterday from Jodhpur and will conclude on January 30. The Pune based automaker, Bajaj today, on the occasion of Republic day has teased its upcoming motorcycle, the Bajaj V150 in the memory of country's first aircraft carrier, the INS Vikrant. The Bajaj V150 is most likely to make its debut on February 1, just 2 days before the 2016 Auto Expo. As per the company claims, the bike has been built from the remains of INS Vikrant which is the first aircraft carrier built in India. This 150cc offering will find its place somewhere between Discover 150F and Pulsar 200 in the company’s lineup. As the metal from INS Vikrant is limited, bike’s production might last for around 2 years. After that, it may come with a lesser price tag or in a regular version. Honda NAVi coming as a 110cc Two-Wheeled Crossover; Unveil at Auto Expo


 

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) has been teasing their upcoming product - NAVi over the past few days and it will be making its appearance at the upcoming Auto Expo. Now, we have received a news that the vehicle will be based on crossover concept, which means that it will come as a combination of a motorcycle and a scooter. NAVi will be powered by a 110cc engine that currently powers the scooter segment leader - Honda Activa. The vehicle will be manufactured at the company’s production facility in Manesar, Haryana. The bike was launched by Yamaha’s MotoGP star Valentino Rossi. It is a naked version of Yamaha R15 and is slated to be showcased in India at the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo. Experts believe that Indian market may face low motorcycle sales till the half of 2016. This drop in motorcycle sales is due to change in monsoon. As stated by Hero MotoCorp, half of country’s motorcycle sales depends on the rural economy and due to change in monsoon the rural economy would go down and this can affect the sales of motorcycles. Recently, Odd-Even rule was applied in New Delhi to reduce the high level of pollution in the Indian Capital. Though this ban was for four wheelers now, the government is planning to also include the two-wheelers and is all geared up to tighten up emission norms for two-wheelers. Reports are that the government could disclose the stricter standards for two-wheeler by this week.
