Weekly Wrap-up: V15 Prices Out, Himalayan Launch on March 16, Yamaha Models Discontinued, Launches in April and Much More

After a lot of new models being showcased and launched at the 2016 edition of Auto Expo and India Bike Week, the manufacturers are following it up with latest updates on the launches, bookings and prices of these models. The sales of last month were recorded at an all time high with Yamaha growing over 50%. Highlights of the week are - Bajaj V15 prices revealed, RE Himalayan launch on March 16, Honda NAVi is about to book 1000 units, new Suzuki Access & Hero Splendor iSmart 110 rolling out next month and Yamaha offerings discontinued. Honda NAVi Bookings About to Touch 1000 Mark

Honda’s moto-scooter, NAVi is gaining popularity due to its unique design and a price of just Rs. 39,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bookings for this two-wheeler are about to reach the four-digit mark. NAVi is getting a great response in the country and can be booked through its mobile application. The deliveries of NAVi will start from the month of April. Coming in three variants - Street, Adventure and Off-road, it will be sold in following colour options - Patriot Red, Shasta White, Hooper Green, Sparky Orange and Black. Also, it is the first product which has been developed by 100% Honda R&D in India. Housing the same 110cc engine as Activa 3G, the mill generates 7.83bhp of maximum power at 7,000rpm enabling it to reach a top speed of 81kmph. Read More:

Ducati Growing Rapidly; Focuses on Indian Market

In 2015, Ducati sold a total of 54,809 motorcycles worldwide, recording an increase of 21.5% in sales. This subsidiary of Audi Group sold almost 10,000 motorcycles more last year as compared to 2014. Ducati achieved a growth of 0.9% from 2014, capturing 5.4% market share in over-500cc motorcycle segment last year. In 2016, Ducati has entered three new segments including below-500cc, cruiser and off-road with Scrambler Sixty2, XDiavel and Multistrada respectively. Presently, the motorcycle manufacturer stands proud with more than 720 dealerships in over 90 countries. Read More:

All New Suzuki Access 125 to hit roads by April 2016

Suzuki Motorcycles India had unveiled its 2016 Access 125 along with Hayate EP at the 2016 Auto Expo last month. Now, the company is working to launch this highest selling scooter in a month’s time. The new Access 125 was amongst the major attractions at the company’s pavilion during the show. The scooter has been given heavy updates in terms of design and styling to rival its new segment leader, the Honda Activa 125 as well Yamaha’s new Ray-ZR.  Read More:

Hero Motocorp Splendor iSmart 110 to be launched in April this year

Hero Motocorp is reportedly geared up to launch a new Splendor iSmart 110 in April this year. First made its presence at the Expo, it is a first fully in-house developed motorcycle. As per the report of a daily online portal, the new Splendor iSmart is likely to be launched in domestic market by April this year. However, the exact launch date isn’t confirmed yet. This comes after the introduction of first in-house developed scooters - Hero Maestro Edge and Duet last year. This upcoming fuel-efficient motorcycle is likely to get the price tag of Rs. 56,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will fall in executive motorcycle category. When compared with its younger sibling, the updated bike offers 9 percent more power and 6 percent more mileage than its existing version.  Read More:

Bajaj V15 Prices Confirmed; Starts at Rs. 61,999

Bajaj had unveiled its 150cc motorcycle, V15 on February 1, just before the 2016 Auto Expo.The prices of V15 are finally confirmed and the bike is priced at Rs. 61,999 in Delhi, Rs. 62,820 in Mumbai, Rs. 63,682 in Chennai and Rs. 65,495 in Kolkata (all prices ex-showroom). V15 is built with the metal from the remains of India’s first warship, INS Vikrant. Its official launch will take place next month and the deliveries are expected to start soon after that. This latest offering from Bajaj will compete with the likes of Yamaha SZ-RR V2.0 and Hero MotoCorp Achiever. Read More:

Royal Enfield Himalayan Launching on March 16, Price Inside

Royal Enfield is all set to launch its first adventure tourer motorcycle, the Himalayan on 16th of March. Earlier, during its unveiling, company officials had confirmed that the bike will be available for sale from mid-March. While it was unveiled before the 2016 Auto Expo, the company will begin accepting bookings for Himalayan once it is launched in the market. Although, the price of the bike has not been confirmed yet, it is most likely to be around Rs. 1.68 lac (ex-showroom, Delhi). Moreover, it hasn’t got any competition as no other manufacturer offers similar category motorcycle in the Indian market.  Read More:

New Yamaha MT-09 Replaces FZ1 in the Indian line-up

We can't say what Yamaha Motor India is up to, however, the company is continuously removing old products from its website. After FZ-S Ver 1.0, Fazer Ver 1.0, Crux and Ray, now the company has taken off its naked sport superbike- FZ1 from its product list. Before that, the company has already launched a new machine in the similar segment- MT-09 in at 2016 Auto Expo with a price tag of Rs. 10.20 lac (ex-showroom, Delhi). So, we can say that the new product might have replaced the new one from the company's line-up. Read More:

The leading sportbike brand in India- Bajaj Pulsar is going to introduce a unique concept of speed biking called the "Festival of Speed" starting March 5 onwards. Some of the motorcycle manufacturers like KTM and Honda are already into organising open track days for their customers in the country. However, the Bajaj Pulsar "Festival of Speed" is totally different from all of them. Read More:

Yamaha MT-125 Imported to India

The import data suggest that few models of Yamaha MT-125 are imported to India. This is the smallest displacement motorcycle in company’s MT series and is currently available for sale in the European market. The reason for bringing this motorcycle to Indian shores is not clear as it is not expected to be launched in India anytime soon because of its high price. The only possible explanation for bringing this naked machine to India might be for testing and Research & Development (R&D) purposes. The declared import value of a motorcycle is Rs. 4,14,362. However, it has nothing to do with the actual market price of the bike. Read More:
