This has been a wonderful week for Yamaha Motors, during the week they launched their highly awaited bike “Yamaha YZF-R3” and their retro styled scooter “Fascino” became their highest setting scooter. The week also witnessed the glory of Shamin Khan, who won 2015 Gulf Monsoon Scooter Rally for Mahindra and Steelbird tied-up with Jazzmyride for online marketing. Suzuki introduced the 2016 Edition of GSX-R1000, while the facelift version of Hero Motocorp Hunk was spotted. Let’s check out all the updates of this week.
Yamaha R3 Spotted Undisguised Before Its Launch In India
As we all know that Yamaha Motor India is going to launch its entry-level performance motorcycle - YZF-R3 tomorrow at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC). But most of the people are unaware of the fact that the bookings of the motorcycle have been started in select dealerships across the country. The booking amount is Rs. 10,000, whereas the price tag of the bike is expected to be around Rs. 3 lac. Furthermore, few days back, the motorcycle was spotted in India and it was pretty apparent from its images that the manufacturer has not kept the Anti-lock braking system, a standard feature. Marc Marquez gives Honda its 700th Grand Prix victory
Beginning with its first world Grand Prix race in 1961, at the hands of Australian rider Tom Phillis on his Honda RC143 in the 125cc class of the season-opening Spanish Grand Prix, Honda has now achieved an unprecedented 700th Grand Prix win. Honda MotoGP rider Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team RC213V) claimed victory in the MotoGP class, in Round 10 of 2015 FIM Road Racing World Championship held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indiana, USA. Yamaha to launch the awaited YZF-R3 in India tomorrow
The Japanese auto major- Yamaha is going to launch the awaited YZF-R3 in India tomorrow. The bike is expected to be priced around Rs. 3 lacs and it will be launched at the India’s only F1 race track- Buddh International Circuit (BIC). Read More
Yamaha YZF-R3 launched in India at Rs. 3.25 lacs
The most awaited entry-level-performance motorcycle of the year- Yamaha YZF-R3 has been launched in India at Rs. 3.25 lacs (ex-showroom, Delhi) in the presence of Yamaha's brand ambassador and Bollywood actor - John Abraham. The bike has been made available in two colour options- Midnight Black and Racing Blue. The manufacturer announced that ABS will not be available with the bike not even as an option and it will be imported from Indonesia via CKD route. Read More

Yamaha YZF-R3 vs KTM RC 390

Shamim Khan won the 2015 Gulf Monsoon Scooter Rally for Mahindra
Four-time Gulf Monsoon Scooter Rally winner- Shamim Khan has won the 2015 season for Mahindra Two Wheelers Ltd. (MTWL). Shamim achieved the title riding a Mahindra Rodeo UZO 125 in the championship, held at Navi Mumbai on August 8th and 9th, 2015. This is the second victory of MTWL in the Gulf Monsoon Scooter rally. Doug Danger Breaks Evel Knievel's 43 Year Old Dream Record
The famous motorcycle showman of the ’60s and ’70s- Evel Knievel attempted to jump 22 cars parked side by side in 1972 on his Harley-Davidson XR750. Unfortunately, he failed to achieve his target and bounce-landed on the safety ramp built by his crew over the last three cars. Now, a daredevil biker from Palmer, Massachusetts- Doug Danger has succeeded to break this record at Sturgis after 43 years. Erik Buell Racing sold for $2.25 Million
The East Troy company went up for auction a few days back and the winning bid of $2.25 million, made by Atlantic Metals LLC was the lucky one to acquire Erik Buell Racing(EBR). Atlantic Metals has acquired all of EBR’s manufacturing assets (machines, parts, tools, etc), as well as the company’s intangible assets (trademarks, patents, databases, etc). Among all the tangible and intangible assets purchased, along with the consulting work acquired by Hero MotoCorp, EBR was left with a little over $5 million. Former EBR employees will be the first to reap that amount, getting reimbursed for paid time off owed to them. Now with the sizeable amount $20.4 million in liabilities, only a fraction of EBR’s debts will be paid off. It will be up to the new owner of EBR to reconcile the debts with the remaining creditors.
