Here’s a quick look at what Benelli could be unveiling at the 2019 EICMA

EICMA is possibly one of the biggest motor shows on the planet with bike makers from around the world bringing their A-game during that week. With the 2019 edition set to begin, we have got our hands on several spy shots of motorcycles, which could make their debut. Thanks to these images, we have an idea of what Benelli could bring at this year’s EICMA:

Leoncino 800:

During the 2018 EICMA, Benelli showed a concept version of a bigger Leoncino, which was powered by the same engine as the 752S. And guess what? The top-end Leoncino is heading into production and Benelli could unveil the production-ready version of the motorcycle at this year’s EICMA. Thanks to the leaked spy shots, we already know how the upcoming Leoncino 800 will look. The Italian bike maker is using the same neo-retro design approach as the Leoncino 500, but there are some differences between the two. For instance, the headlight is a bit different and so is the small windscreen. And oh, you’ll still get the ‘Lion of Pesaro’ on the front fender.

As aforementioned, the upcoming Leoncino 800 will be powered by the same 754cc parallel-twin motor as seen on the 752S. However, we expect Benelli to update this motor to meet the upcoming emission norms. In the 752S, this motor belts out 76.8PS and 67Nm, but these figures could change once the Euro 5/BS6 emission norms kick in. As we have seen so far this year, Benelli has been offensive by launching one model after the other, so it is highly likely that the Leoncino 800 will come to our shores as well.

2020 TNT 600i:

A few months back, design sketches of the all-new TNT 600i surfaced online. And it wasn’t just a new paint scheme, Benelli’s designers had gone back to the drawing board and redesigned the motorcycle completely. Now, a new set of images have surfaced showing a slightly redesigned motorcycle. So there is a possibility it might be bringing two variants of the TNT 600i at the upcoming EICMA. What’s interesting is that Benelli will bring the 2020 TNT 600i to India sometime next year. We expect the updated model to carry a premium of around Rs 50,000 over the current model, which retails at Rs 6.2 lakh (ex-showroom).

Apart from these two motorcycles, Benelli could be bringing Euro 5/BS6-compliant models to the 2019 EICMA as well. As far as the Indian market is concerned, the bike maker will bring BS6-compliant models post April only, which could help the company clear its BS4 inventory.
