From BS6 scooters to new 250-300cc motorcycles, here’s what Aprilia could showcase at the expo
Apart from the Storm 125, Aprilia hasn’t launched any brand new two-wheeler in 2019. So can we expect a surprise from the manufacturer at the upcoming Auto Expo? Well, here’s a list of two-wheelers that we think could be unveiled (or launched) at Auto Expo 2020:
BS6 SR 125 and SR 160:
Just last week, Aprilia launched the BS6 versions of its scooters. Except for an updated motor, the “new” SR 125 hasn’t received anything new at all (it looks the same as before!). Aprilia’s flagship scooter, on the other hand, has received some extra ceecees and a new suffix. Enter the SR 160. The extra displacement has brought the SR 160’s power output to 11PS, which is 0.94PS more than before. Now, we knew that manufacturers would hike prices of their two-wheelers in order to comply with the new emission norms, but Aprilia and Vespa are asking way more than the other manufacturers!
250-300cc Motorcycles:
Aprilia’s Managing Director Diego Graffi has revealed that the company is working on 250-300cc motorcycles that are likely to be launched in India by early-2021. However, we expect the bike maker to at least showcase pre-production versions of the motorcycles at the expo. Considering Aprilia’s sporty heritage, we expect the upcoming motorcycles to use an ‘RS’ and a ‘Tuono’ moniker. When launched, these motorcycles will go up against the KTM 250 Duke, Honda CB300R, BMW G 310 R and the TVS Apache RR 310.
Big bikes:
Aprilia might launch the 2020 RSV4 1100 Factory at the upcoming Auto Expo. Expect for the new paint scheme, the 2020 iteration remains the same as its predecessor. We got to ride the insane RSV4 1100 Factory Mugello, and here’s what we have to say about it.
