The Mumbai International Motor show was organized amidst much fanfare at the MMRDA Grounds, Bandra Kurla Complex recently. The eclectic range of four and two-wheelers were put on display for the click happy photographers as well as the automobile aficionados. Stall number 21 represented by India Yamaha Motor, had some of the most exciting products on display including the Yamaha Ray scooter, the Moto GP inspired R15 bike, the legendary VMAX along with a line-up of the latest products and accessories from Yamaha. Bollywood heartthrob John Abraham, whose association with the company has significantly enhanced its brand image, was also present at the stall. Being an avid biker himself, he seemed upbeat about the Motor Show.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Roy Kurian, National Business Head, India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd., said, “Yamaha has always been a committed player in the two-wheeler market and makes consistent efforts to adapt to market demand by launching exciting products year-on-year. I am extremely happy that Ray has been well received and looking at the current market scenario where the scooter segment is growing tremendously, I am positive that Ray will be able to hold its ground as the number one scooter in the country. Similarly, our bikes are equally special to us. A lot of thought and hard-work goes into our products and we prioritize our customers’ needs above everything else. Having said that, I extend my gratitude towards our loyal customers and channel partners who have played a key role in our consistent growth in India over the years.”
The motif at the Yamaha booth was in sync with the concept adopted by the company this year based on “Yamaha Global DNA” and the message being “Excitement”. Known for their stylish designs, innovation and high technology powered with exciting performance, all the products on display garnered much attention from the onlookers. The Yamaha racing gene and the flagship model, Yamaha YZF R15 further added to the thrill the product line ups exuded.
The company’s premium scooter-the Ray has been met with stupendous response from critics and consumers alike. The trophies parked at the stall bore testimony to the fact that the Ray is here to stay. The Ray was launched with great aplomb in Hyderabad in September last year. Ray’s brand ambassador, Miss Deepika Padukone has been instrumental in boosting the image of the company especially among young girls and women. Both John and Deepika who are youth icons represent the prototype which the company strongly believes in- “good-looking and cool”.
