Yamaha has launched the latest iteration of its popular naked commuter with plenty of colour options. Let’s help you pick the right one.
After a rather long wait, Yamaha has finally unveiled the next generation FZ. Dubbed the FZ Fi Version 3.0, the bike features a number of stylistic and mechanical updates, including the addition of a single-channel ABS unit. That said, Yamaha has always been known to offer some excellent and unique colour options on its bikes, and the latest FZ is no different. Here we look at the various colour options the new FZ is available with and pick our favourites.

As with the FZ Version 2.0, Yamaha has launched the Version 3.0 in two different variants, the standard FZ Fi and the FZ-S Fi. While both bikes are the same the mechanically, they differ in terms of colour and graphic options. Let’s start witht the standard FZ first. Yamaha is offering two colour choices with this variant, viz. Metric Black and Racing Blue. While the former complements the bike’s stance very well, the blue colour is reminiscent of Yamaha’s racing heritage. And unlike the outgoing model, the sticker job on the new FZ is minimal and is mainly restricted to the fuel tank shrouds, where the bike’s name is emblazoned. Moreover, both Metric Black and Racing Blue are offered as single-tone colours, which helps put the spotlight on the new FZ’s rather beefy styling. That said, we definitely prefer the racing blue over the black-coloured variant. And while it has always been the epitome of a streetfighter naked in India, the new one has borrowed several muscular styling elements from its elder brother, the FZ25. Both colour variants of the FZ Fi are priced at Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).

However, if you want more eclectic colour choices, the FZ-S is what you should look at. Yamaha is offering this variant in three colour options, viz. Matt Black, Dark Matt Blue and Gray & Cyan Blue. The latter two are dual-tone colours, where the bottom half of the headlamp fairing, the tank extensions and the side panels are painted in gray and cyan while the rest of the bike’s body is finished in blue and gray, respectively. As with the standard FZ, it’s the blue-gray combo that gets our vote here as well. That said, the blue-gray and black options in the FZ-S are perfect for those who have a soft corner for matt finished colours. And since this is the FZ-S variant we are talking about, it also gets a black-finished engine cowl. Yamaha has priced the FZ-S at a premium of Rs 2,000 over the standard FZ, which means it retails for Rs 97,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Yamaha FZ25 ABS is available in Matt Black, Dark Matt Blue and Cyan Blue colours and sports a price tag of Rs 1.33 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). As for the Fazer 25 ABS, Yamaha is offering the bike in Dark Matt Blue and Metallic Black with both variants priced at Rs 1.43 lakh.
