Yamaha Brazil has launched the Marvel-inspired Limited Editions of the Yamaha FZ25 streetfighter and the Yamaha Lander 250, a dual-purpose motorcycle. The FZ25 Marvel Edition comes in two themes based on Captain Marvel and Black Panther. On the other hand, the Lander 250 gets the Captain America-inspired colour scheme.
The Marvel Editions of the Yamaha FZ25 (called Fazer 250 in Brazil) cost 18,090 Brazilian Real, which is approximately Rs 2.45 lakh. Interestingly, they are around Rs 4,200 less expensive than the standard variant. The two bikes get superhero-inspired colour schemes on the body panels with matching rim tapes. The Yamaha Lander 250 Marvel Edition gets a similar colour theme albeit without the rim tapes. This dual-purpose motorcycle retails at 19,290 Brazilian Real, which is around Rs 2.62 lakh.
The changes are strictly cosmetic, though. It retains the same quarter-litre SOHC 2-valve air-cooled engine with oil cooler churning out 21.5PS at 8000rpm and 20.59Nm at 6500rpm. In comparison, the India-spec BS6-compliant FZ25 produces 20.8PS at 8000rpm and 20.1Nm at 6000rpm. The Yamaha Lander 250, on the other hand, is powered by a 249cc air-cooled fuel-injected engine, generating 20.9PS at 8000rpm and 20.59Nm at 6500rpm.
For optimum performance off the road, the Lander 250 uses a long-travel telescopic front fork (220mm travel) and a linked rear monoshock with 204mm travel. It also uses a larger front spoke wheel and a smaller rear unit wrapped with dual-purpose tyres.
These bikes aren’t the only pop culture-inspired editions in Brazil. The Japanese brand also offers the Yamaha R15 V3-derived NMax 160 Star Wars Edition in two colour variants: Alliance Rebel and Galactic Empire. Pretty cool, isn’t it? In the Indian market, TVS is the only brand to offer a pop-culture-inspired colour scheme on a two-wheeler: the TVS NTorq 125 Super Squad Edition. We hope Yamaha India sees the demand for such colour schemes and introduces the Marvel Edition to the India-spec FZ25 as well.
