The renowned Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer, Yamaha Motors has finally launched its much awaited naked sportbike, Yamaha MT25 in the Indonesian market. The bike is the naked version of Yamaha’s fully faired R25 and was in huge demand right since the news of its unveiling. It has been made available to buyers at a price of IDR 46 million, which is equivalent to Rs. 2.2 Lac. The bike has been launched in three interesting colours namely: Red Rage, Silver Blue and Black Strike.
In terms of mechanicals, the machine is inspired from its sportier version and houses the same 249cc, parallel twin cylinder, 8-valve, liquid-cooled mill that cranks out 35.5bhp of power and 22.6Nm of torque. Yamaha MT25 stands between the baby MT125 and the mighty MT-07 & MT-09 which are a part of Yamaha’s epic street fighter series. As compared to the sporty R25, the bike gets a bikini fairing, relatively upright riding position and highly raised handlebar.
The company has announced that it will also export the newly launched bike to other countries as well, which can be a ray of hope for the Indian buyers. Meanwhile, Yamaha R3 was recently spotted at a dealership in Mumbai which hints towards its early launch in the country. Yamaha India might launch MT25 along with Yamaha R3 to dig its roots deeper and stronger in the country’s quarter-litre sportbike and street bike segment.
