Yamaha may launch new Fino125

Yamaha Motor Co have announced that they will launch the new Fino125 scooter in Thailand in mid-September 2015. This new scooter has been developed based on the Lively Fino 125 concept. The new Fino125 will feature an air-cooled 125cc engine using Yamaha’s patented BLUE CORE technology which they say will give you better mileage. Even though the displacement has been increased compared to the current 115cc Fino, Yamaha say that the new model will achieve similar fuel efficiency and riding performance. 

The new Fino 125 clearly inherits the FinoDNA. The design of the new Fino125 has been refreshed by incorporating a diamond-cut lens LED headlights, a new frame ideally matched to the BLUE CORE engine, and a lot of attention to details.  Since its introduction in 2006, the quirky looking automatic transmission Fino scooter has become popular across a wide age range of customers in Thailand. With its complete revamp in 2013, in addition to further refinements in styling and various functions, the adoption of electronically-controlled fuel injection (FI) delivered significant improvements in fuel efficiency. Even now, nine years after the first generation was launched, the Fino is a mainstay product for Yamaha Motor in Thailand. 

But the main question now is will Yamaha bring this scooter to India to compete in the already saturated scooter market? Well only time will tell but according to us, a quirky looking scooter like the Fino might be a little too much for the Indian consumers as far as looks go. But then again, sometimes quirky works. We’ll have to wait and see.
