Yamaha organizes Riding Clinic for the third time in India

Invites Ex-WGP rider Mr. Yoshiaki Kato to conduct the clinic

Riding on the success of the previous sessions of the Yamaha Riding Clinic, India Yamaha Motor concluded the third edition of the Riding Clinic in association with Yamaha Motor Co., Japan and Madras Motor Sports Club, that took place between May 23rd -26th, 2012 at the Madras Motor Sports Track, Chennai. Yamaha had especially invited Ex-WGP rider, Mr. Yoshiaki Kato, to conduct this clinic in India and share his experience with young enthusiastic bikers.

The clinic was divided into Novice and Expert class. 30 enthusiastic riders participated in the Novice sessions which were held on 23rd and 24th May while the Expert sessions held on 25th and 26th May  witnessed participation from 20 riders. These 50 riders were imparted theory and practical training sessions. The first day was kept for training while the second day witnessed a racing competition amongst them. The riders were trained on Basic Bike Check Up, Daytona Racing Kit parts, Correct Riding Posture, the Right Racing Line, Braking, Cornering, etc in detail. The clinic insisted them to gain good knowledge about proper riding techniques and improve their riding skills.

The idea behind conducting such riding events is to identify and nurture talent in India that will one day be capable of representing India at the MotoGP races. The participants of the Riding Clinic have the opportunity to participate in the R15 One make race to start in June 2012. The winners of the R15 One make race have the chance to represent India at the Yamaha ASEAN cup race to be held later this year. Yamaha is the only brand in India who is offering its esteemed customers a chance to perform at an international platform while they experience & enjoy the unmatched technology of the Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0 modified with Daytona Racing Kit.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Jun Nakata, Director - Sales and Marketing, India Yamaha Motor said, “Yamaha has always been in the forefront in promoting motor sports along with safe riding skills. With such riding clinics, we are planning to take the Indian biking culture to an all new level. Ever since its inception, the riding clinic has seen talent and we want to nurture this talent with more preparation & training and see them succeed on international racing platforms. Starting this year, the novice category will also get to train on the R15 version 2.0 which was earlier available only to the expert class. We surely hope to see the riders improve their performance on the track after this training.”

Riding Clinic is aimed at providing true experience of Racing Instinct and Unmatched Performance to young biking enthusiasts. To make their experience more exciting, the YZF-R15 Version 2.0 which was used by the riders were modified with Daytona Racing Kits. The kit included Racing Exhaust system, Racing ECU (Engine Control Unit), High Lift Cam Shaft and Petal shaped large Disc. Yamaha had launched these racing kits in 2009 in India and these are available at Yamaha’s select dealers across India.

The YZF-R15 version 2.0 – a 150cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke fuel injected bike, has been developed under the concept of a “Graded Up R15.” While maintaining the proven ease of handling of the existing R15, the R15 version 2.0 boasts of spruced up looks and better performance in circuit riding. The design elements are borrowed from the supersport model YZF-R1 that is adapted from YZR-M1 MotoGP race machine.
