Yamaha R15 V3.0 Spied; To Enter Market By Year End?

After a long wait, we might get to see the highly speculated R15 V3.0 this festive season. If spy shots flooded over the net are to be believed, the company is planning to bring the V3.0 R15, which is the most selling 150cc product in the company’s portfolio, as it has been spotted testing. Also, this bike is expected to share the design with its recently launched M-Slaz. 

No changes in the engine are expected, as it will come equip to the same liquid-cooled, 4-valve, SOHC, fuel injected, 4-stroke, 149cc engine that generates a maximum power of 16.76bhp at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of !5Nm at 7,500 rpm. The power of this bike is transmitted to its rear wheel through the return type 6-speed transmission. 

In terms of the cosmetics, the R15 V3.0 will get changes like LED headlights, upside-down forks and an upgraded digital console. This bike will compete with other important players in the segment like Suzuki Gixxer 155 and the Honda CBR150R.  After the leaked pictures of CBR150R had started making rounds last year, the new spy shots of the R15 might be a sign of Honda’s rival is also in the making. There has been no confirmation given by the company yet, but we are expecting both the products to hit the streets by the end of this year. 

However, Yamaha recently launched its naked street fighter MT-09 at 2016 Auto Expo and it seems like this Japanese manufacturer has clearly made plans to dominate the market with its fast and smooth machines. The MT-09 which was launched at the recently concluded Auto Expo 2016 comes equipped with 847cc, 3-cylinder, liquid cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, 4-valve powertrain that is coupled to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox. Its smooth engine is capable enough to produce 113.42bhp of power at 10,000rpm along with peak torque of 87.5Nm at 8,500rpm.
