The R15M gets more premium underpinnings, a redesigned fascia, and a different livery
[Update: Yamaha YZF-R15 Version 4.0, R15M Launched, Prices Start At Rs 1.68 Lakh]
Yamaha is all set to launch its updated R15 tomorrow. The faired bike is likely to be called the Yamaha R15M going by the homologation documents leaked last month. The motorcycle was also spied at a dealership event, giving us a clearer uncamouflaged look of the faired bike.
The Yamaha R15M comes with a redesigned fairing and fascia, and the latter looks quite similar to the new Yamaha R7, complete with the single LED projector headlamp. The fuel tank looks beefier, and might hold more fuel than the 11-litre unit in the current-gen Yamaha R15 V3. The fairing design looks cleaner, and the tail panels look slightly revised as well.

While the current-gen model churns out 18.6PS and 14.1Nm, the output figures of the R15M seems to be slightly different. You can know more about it in our detailed analysis here.
Another major update is that the motorcycle gets a premium-looking USD fork. The rest of the underpinnings such as the wheels, tyres, and brakes seem to have remained unchanged.
The Yamaha R15M is expected to command a premium of around Rs 6,000 - Rs 8,000 over the current-gen iteration, which retails at Rs 1,57,600. Once launched, it will go up against the smaller-engined, less-powerful KTM RC 125, priced at an eye-watering Rs 1,80,538 (both ex-showroom, Delhi).
