The recently unveiled quarter-litre pocket rocket from Yamaha has been recently recalled in the United States due to faulty triple clamp. The company has found a minor fault in the upper triple clamp in the YZF-R3 as it might crack due to an impact, if not replaced on time.

The manufacturer has recalled the models which are manufactured between January 1, 2015 to August 31, 2015 and surprisingly, only 16 such units were found to be affected. As per NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), a fractured triple clamp can lead to loss of handling that eventually might result in a major damage, including loss of life. The organisation is the official Department of Transportation body in the USA.

Yamaha R3 was launched in India on 11th August, 2015 at a glittering event held at Buddh International Circuit. Powered by a 321cc, parallel twin motor, the bike impressed the auto experts to a huge extent due to its exceptionally well power delivery and agile handling. However, the price of Rs. 3.25 lac (ex-showroom, Delhi) at which it comes proved a disappointing factor for many. Yamaha still managed to sell a whopping 140 units in the first month of its inception that hints towards its decent number of admirers in the country.
