A good news for the aspiring technicians has just come in from Yamaha India, as this automaker has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Maharashtra Government for setting up training schools in the state. These schools will be made in the government technical and polytechnics colleges and will educate the youth about technicalities of the two-wheelers. These schools are designed to train students belonging to the economically weaker section and on completion of the training they will be sent to Yamaha dealerships across India to work as two-wheeler technicians.

Yamaha has become the first two-wheeler maker to offer an initiative of this kind and to provide such a course in partnership with government institutes. Earlier, the company has signed many such agreements all over the country with many organisations and now it is planning to open more schools in Maharashtra and will be setting up a school in the Govt. Polytechnic College, Pune. This new school in Pune will be the fifth Yamaha training school in Maharashtra and second in collaboration with Govt. Technical College, Maharashtra.

Speaking on the occasion, Masaki Asano, managing director, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. said, “The existing skill gap in the industry can be reduced by imparting technical training to younger generations. Yamaha has designed a way to address this concern. Through the Yamaha Training Schools, it will facilitate relatively indigent youngsters to obtain job oriented technical training in two-wheeler repair and servicing that meets industry standards.”

With this good cause for society, Yamaha seems to be focusing more on the CSR activities. We hope that other manufacturers should also focus on their corporate social responsibilities by doing something for the community, underprivileged and the economically backward people to get employment and necessary training that can help them in earning their bread for the rest of their life.
