- Expected to be launched by the first quarter of 2022.
Zaiser Motors, a Colorado-based startup, has taken the wraps off its first electric all-wheel-drive motorcycle that can deliver a claimed range of over 480km per charge. The Electrocycle, which only exists in renders as of now, makes these claims a bit arduous to acknowledge at first. But could it be a game changer, if it’s true?
Range anxiety has always been one of the biggest hurdles for electric two-wheeler manufacturers. Offering 482km per charge would most definitely help Zaiser's electric motorcycle take on more conventional ICE-powered competitors.
While details are scarce, we do know that the bike packs a large 17.3 kWh battery -- only slightly smaller than the one Energica manufacturers for its electric motorcycles. Despite this, it puts out almost twice the range which is commendable. To add to this, its portable battery has fast-charging capabilities, however the bike’s charge times are currently unknown.
Zaiser claims its retro-styled cruiser has a top speed of over 190kmph and a zero to sixty time of 3.6 seconds. That’s possible thanks to the bike's twin-hub motor setup which makes it an all-wheel-drive motorcycle. Other notable features include a full-digital instrument console, traction control, auto stabilization, proximity sensors, wearable interconnectivity, and a roadside assistance system.

Specs aside, the bike’s overall design is rather odd. The stretched proportions may not be to everyone’s liking, nor is its obnoxiously large arched fender housing a skinny rear tyre. Zaiser’s EV is expected to be launched between late 2021 and early 2022. The pricing, on the other hand, is a bit of a shocker. Zaiser says it may price the bike around $25,000 (about 18 lakh), which is unbelievably expensive for an electric motorcycle.
