Almost a year-old video footage reveals new Hero MotoCorp Dawn 100, 125 and 150 motorcycles, but are they on their way to the Indian market?
A promotional video of a new Hero MotoCorp Dawn series has recently gone popular on the internet. Some folks claim that it is the upcoming range of motorcycles from the Indian manufacturer. However, if we look at the release date of the video footage, it was uploaded in October 2015, almost a year ago. Also, the video makers have labelled it as 'Kenya market', so it probably was not shot for the Indian market. However, we can never deny the possibilities of something good.
The Hero Dawn 100 in the video looks almost identical to the existing version of the bike which is on sale in India, while the Dawn 125 and the Dawn 150 looks quite refreshing. However, a close look tells the real story that both the 125cc and 150cc models aren't all new. The Dawn 150 is a stripped-down version of the Achiever that is already available in India. While the Dawn 125 is the Super Splendor with similar changes, which is also available in the market.
The new additions in the Dawn 125 and 150 as compared to their source motorcycles include the replacement of bikini fairing and trapezoidal headlamp with round headlight. The bikes also sacrifice the aluminium rear grab rail for a luggage carrier. Both the bikes get an all-black theme, followed by the exhaust muffler as well. There’s no doubt that the bikes look promising and can make decent numbers, especially in the rural market. However, we can't be assured whether Hero will be bringing the new Dawn series in the market or not, so let's just hope for the best.
