2014 Suzuki Hayabusa 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Revealed

Suzuki Motorcycles has completed 50 successful years in the USA, and to celebrate the achievement, the company has revealed an special edition of their most popular supersport bike Hayabusa at the 2013 American International Motorcycle Expo. It's a limited edition and the second special edition of the bike. Before that, company also has a 2013 Hayabusa special edition in Black-Yellow paint scheme.

The 2014 Hayabusa limited edition has got a new Red-Black dual tone paint job, in which the upper part of the bike has been painted in Red and the lower part in Black. Its three spoke black alloy wheels also have red assents. Other specifications and features of the bike will remain the same.

The special edition Hayabusa is powered by the same 1340cc, 4-stroke, Liquid-cooled, 4-cylinder, DOHC engine, which also powers the 2013 Hayabusa. The engine is capable to churn out a maximum power of 199PS and 154Nm of torque. Top speed of the bike has been electronically restricted at 299kmph. Engine cylinder is plated by Suzuki's composite electrochemical material (SCEM), which improves heat transfer, durability and ring seal. It uses light weight titanium valves along with light valve springs provides high lift while maintaining accurate valve control for better scavenging process. Its iridium spark plugs increases the fuel efficiency of the bike, while Suzuki Pulsed-secondary AIR-injection (PAIR) system ignites unburned hydrocarbons to reduce carbon monoxide emissions. It has idle speed control (ISC) system to maintain stable engine idle under various conditions and improves cold starting.

Suzuki Hayabusa comes equipped with double front and single rear disk brakes using top-of-the-line radial-mount Brembo Monobloc front brake calipers, which has Antilock Brake System (ABS) as an standard equipment. Its advanced 6-speed gear box features oil spray to the 4th and higher gears and it has been used with Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS). The system contributes to a light clutch pull, smooth downshifts, reduces gear clashing and wear. S-DMS (Suzuki Drive Mode Selector) technology has been used in the bike, which has three different modes to choose according to the riding conditios.

Price of the 2014 Suzuki Hayabusa Limited Edition is still to be announced.
