2015 EV Expo: E-Storm and E-Champ Electric scooters Unveiled

Goenka Electric Motor Vehicles Pvt. Ltd, leading E-rickshaw manufacturer in the country has revealed two new electric scooters e-storm and e-champ at the 2015 EV Expo at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. With these new e-bikes, the company forays into the two-wheeler segment. The manufacturer will launch these electric scooters in the early part of 2016.
Powering the Goenka E-Storm is a 200W BLDC motor, which derives its energy from 6 rechargeable batteries that require 6-7 hours for a full charge through a plug point. The bike has a top speed of around 65-70 kmph and on a full charge the bike can travel upto 80-90 kms. Whereas the Goenka E-Champ is powered by a 250W BLDC motor connected to 48V battery and has a top speed of around 25-30 kmph. As with all electric scooters, you don't require a license to ride them.
Sanjay Goenka, Managing Director, Goenka Electric Motor Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. commenting on the launch, stated, “We focus on environment friendly technologies and believe in promoting the cause of clean energy in creating a lasting and harmonious environment, as we say future is electric. We believe in promoting clean and green India this year at expo we have launched 2 wheeler electric vehicles, e-storm and e-champ”.
On the looks front, the E-Strom gets a muscular and sporty design. Whereas, the E-Champ receives simple looks. These environmental friendly scooters are purely manufactured in India. The manufacturing plant of the company is situated at Sonipat, Haryana.
After the launch, these electric scooters will compete with the other e-scooters in the country like the Hero Electric Zion, BSA Fusion and Hero Electric Maxi.
