2016 Auto Expo: Aprillia RSV4 RF Showcased in India

An Italian motorcycle company, Aprilia has presented all new version of its RSV4 series RSV4 RF, today at the ongoing Auto Expo. It is a top-end performance supersport motorcycle that is expected to be available for sale in Indian two-wheeler market later this year and will cost around Rs. 28 lac (ex-showroom- Delhi). If launched in India, it will lock horns with BMW S1000RR, Kawasaki Ninja H2 and the new Yamaha YZF-R1.
In terms of appearance, the bike is super sports machine, which is totally designed on race inspired theme. It comes in two color scheme namely Bucine Gray and Black Ascari. The bike comes with a completely restyled front end that includes top fairing for wind protection, triple headlamp section that provide more power beam as compared to other Aprilia RSV4 series models. It also features an LED parking light and turn blinkers. It has a digital instrument cluster with LCD display. The rear part of the machine is fitted with an LED tail lamp.
Powering the Aprilia RSV4 RF is 999cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 16-valve, 65° V4 engine that comes linked to a 6-speed transmission. The engine is tuned to pump out 269.54bhp of power at 13,000rpm and 115Nm of peak torque at 10,500rpm. It has been fitted with just 4 litres capacity of a fuel tank. It also features APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) that includes Aprilia Traction Control (ATC), Aprilia Wheelie Control (AWC), Aprilia Launch Control (ALC) and Aprilia Quick Shift (AQC).
The super sports bike is bolted on Twin-spar aluminum frame and measures 2040 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 1420 mm and seat height of 845mm. The braking is done by 320mm discs with Brembo M430 monobloc four-piston radial mount calipers at the front and 220mm disc with Brembo twin-piston caliper at the rear along with Bosch Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) as standard. The bike employs 43mm inverted fork as its front suspension option and Gas-charged shock absorber for the rear.
