2016 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R Slated for a Worldwide Launch

The new offering in the Ninja family, 2016 Ninja ZX-10R is about to be launched globally at Sepang, Malaysia. Adam ‘Chad’ Child (MCN Senior Road Tester) will ride the all-new ZX-10R in the Sepang international circuit with Tom Sykes (Former WSBK Champion) as an instructor. Tom Sykes played a vital role in evolving the machine and the company also claims that the bike is the nearest thing to a factory world superbike. The India launch is it yet to be announced but we believe it could arrive at the Indian shores by the end of 2016.

The 2016 model of ZX-10R will slightly be similar to the previous version but it will be loaded with updated electronics, brakes, engine, chassis, suspension, fairing and exhaust. Powering the bike is 998cc, 4-stroke In-line four, Liquid-cooled engine that comes coupled with a 6-speed transmission. The fuel injected mill churns out a maximum power of 197.26 bhp at 13000 rpm and with RAM air the mill develops 207.05 of power at 13000 rpm. The motor pumps out a peak torque of 113.5 Nm at 11500 rpm. The bike is Euro 4 compliant and also features Kawasaki’s Intelligent Anti-Lock Braking System, Engine Brake Control, Launch Control Mode, Quick Shifter and the new Sport-Kawasaki Traction Control. The bike has also been equipped with Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU).

The motorcycle will be available in 3 variants, i.e, Standard, KRT Edition and the Winter edition. This model will come to India as a completely built-up (CBU) unit and it will only be available for sale at Kawasaki dealerships. If the bike is launched in India it will be priced at somewhere around Rs 18.17 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).
